To be able to get the most out of this course you need to to have considerable knowledge about:
1. The meaning of political philosophy
2. The political thought in the old and medieval ages

The competence targeted by this course, as a whole, is to be able to use the basic theories and key concepts as a foundation for their essays and analytical works.
Modern History of Political Thought aims to:
* In terms of knowledge, to teach you the basic notions allowing the
Understanding of different governments’ ideologies especially: Liberalism- Nationalism-Socialism- Islamism
* In terms of know-how:
- to train yourself in the exploration of history to get an explanation to current political developments
- to direct you to towards the essays writing phase by making use of the key concepts.
* In terms of interpersonal skills: make you aware of respecting the requirements of a political analysis based on history.
