This course provides an exploration of fundamental concepts in computer
science, starting with the definition and scope of the field. It delves
into the historical development of computer science and its impact
across various domains. The course then offers an overview of computer
systems, covering basic components like the CPU, memory, storage, as
well as input and output devices. The section on computer architecture
explains the Von Neumann architecture, elucidating the pivotal roles of
the CPU and memory in program execution. Finally, an introduction to
operating systems discusses their essential functions and highlights
different types, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
