In this unit of study, students will be introduced to Greek mythology and its importance in
occidental literature in general and English literature in particular. They will read and analyze one of these myths, namely, Echo and Narcissus as rewritten by Roger Lancelyne Green. In addition to finding out about the divinity system of Greek mythology, the elements of fiction and literary devices or figures of speech will be studied.
