Introduction: After Romanticism, came Realism which is a mirror or image to reality. In America, there was a difference between eastern part civilized and the western part which was still savage in an empty territory. It split into two movements:
1. Eastern genteel such as Henry James “Daisy Miller” short story
2. Western , savage, uncivilized
Local Colour Movement is typically American, slavery, minors and so on.
