English- French translation exercise: Marketing Theme

Steps:

1-     Prepare the relevant tools and resources to understand (monolingual / bilingual dictionaries).

2-     Read carefully the source text.

3-     Identify the material’s function, goal and style.

4-     Identify the words and terms you don’t understand and look for their meanings in the source language

5-     Re-express the content of ST in SL with your own words

6-     Start the transfer to french.

 

Helpful hints:

-        Use segmentation by sentence or by idea in order to compare your translation. This process helps you know if you lost or added a content while translating.
